Canon recognizes biodiversity as essential for a sustainable society. We carry out various activities to conserve and protect biodiversity under our Biodiversity Policy, which applies to the entire Canon Group.

Initiatives
Initiatives related to the TNFD
The Canon Marketing Japan Group (hereinafter the "Canon MJ Group") participates in the TNFD Forum to elevate its disclosure of information related to natural capital and biodiversity. We will steadily disclose TNFD-related information based on insights gained from international discussions and best practices established by other companies.
Promote Social Contribution Activities to Protect Biodiversity
Guided by its “Canon Group Biodiversity Policy,” the Canon MJ Group is carrying out its Furusato (Hometown) Project with the aim of preserving beautiful and verdant local communities for future generations. We are implementing biodiversity conservation programs in various regions of Japan together with partner organizations that are seeking to register their sites as Nationally Certified Sustainably Managed Natural Sites, certified by the Ministry of the Environment. We are also participating in the 30by30 Alliance for Biodiversity* promoted by the Ministry of the Environment.
